However, to avoid disappointment, couples should confirm the availability of the church before making any bookings or plans for their preferred date.

Notice is best given in person, by both partners, to the parish priest Simply phone or contact him to make an appointment. He will arrange to meet with the couple on a few occasions before the wedding: to complete the necessary paperwork, discuss and explain the Church’s teaching on marriage, plan the wedding, and (where necessary) to simply get to know one another better prior to the wedding.

Six months notice is normally required by the Church from those wishing to be married in St Brigid’s. In effect most couples will normally give much longer - usually one or two years. Every effort will be made to give couples the date and time of their choosing.
